You guys going to read it? Thoughts?

I could do without the Chloe Sullivan-Queen business. Will post more later on how I feel (still processing it), but what do you guys think???

I'm curious about the possibility of the series and cautiously looking forward to it, but I feel a bit wary of the whole thing. DC's been burning me with how they have treated Lois lately, the whole Flashpoint series with her was a huge letdown. And I am really really turned off with Chloe Sullivan-Queen in there. I am not interested in more worshipping at the altar of Chloe.

But I see people on Twitter saying how much BQM loves Lois and how excited they are, so I am hoping it will be good. I do love Smallville's Clois like no other.

So yea, I'm going to try it.

Here's a few things that might make you feel better:

BQM was one of the few writers that actually consistently called Chloe on her shit in his episodes. He wrote Committed, Hex (which really pissed of the Chlois theorists) and Masquerade just to name a few. The latter episode was where he had Chloe canonically acknowledge her Hubris. So I'm not at all worried on that front.

As far as Lois is concerned, BQM generally writes his female characters, especially Lois, with respect and treats them like well rounded characters. I don't know if you read his run on Batgirl (the Stephanie Brown version) but it was EXCELLENT. His Lois has been some of my favorite Lois in the series. And because this is set in the Smallville universe which, in the last 3 seasons) really upped the ante on the importance of Lois in the narrative, and where BQM was the story editor in the last two seasons you cannot deny that Lois was at the forefront of the stories, second only to Clark.

And most important to ME, his Clark is pretty much everything I love in a Clark Kent. He writes Clark as smart, funny, flawed, but most importantly as the MAIN character. So I'm not at all worried that tertiary characters will overpower the narrative. Add the fact that BQM knows the characters in the SV Universe and therefore will not change who they are at their core to fit into the DCU, means that we will get the right versions of these characters. So basically this was the best possible news I could've gotten.

I'm just typing out some random thoughts.

I'm being very cautious about this. I know it's something minor but I didn't like that Lois was listed after Chloe and Oliver in the DC blog. I know on the show they thought that Chloe was the most popular character and I don't want her taking over the book.

I have very mixed emotions. They they can have the Sullivan-Queen but not Lane-Kent in the show. But I do remember BQM saying his favorite scenes were the Dunk tank scene and another clois scene I can't recall right now.

Since the reboot pushed Lois to the side. I'm hoping Bryan will be able to focus on her and Clark as partners personally and professionally and as individuals. He said it's an ensemble so I'm preparing myself.

I really can't wait to see Lois Lane look like Erica. That greatly pleases me.

I'm pretty sure that was a DC thing and not a BQM thing. He's always placed a significant focus on Clark and Lois in his episodes, even the ones that some people didn't like very much (lol). And yes, BQM has said that his favorite scenes not scripted by him were the Dunk Tank in Facade and the Floating Dance in Homecoming. Both CLois scenes.

Not to be all Polyanna about this, but BQM writing this book has alleviated pretty much all the crappy feelings I've had about this f-ing reboot (and I've still been reading the comics and it's as bad as you can imagine, at least in the Action Comics title). I can't wait and I'm still jumping for joy over here.

No, that is fine be a Pollyanna. lol. I just want Clark and Lois to be written as best as possible. So I'll take all the optimism.

I guess I'm paranoid b/c I remember Kelly H. saying how Chloe had the most fans and she's the strongest character and all that jazz. So I was nervous. But it's all in BQM's hands now. I bet he's feeling a lot of pressure and the fact he's on twitter. lol.

I'm really happy and grateful we get a Clark and Lois who are together and happy. Also, we get Lois being a reporter.

I couldn't believe it when I read it. I kinda hate the fact that Chloe gets to be called 'Sullivan-Queen' while Lois and Clark are still engaged but I'll take anything I can get at this point.

I don't trust DC and I hate what they've done to Clark/Lois and Clois in the last 3 years and even though BQM, IMO made some awfull mistakes writing SV last season this is still better news then I ever expected to get. We're getting a Smallville season 11!!! I almost screamed when it finally sunk in.

I'm going to try and stay cautiously optimistic, with the emphasis on 'cautiously' till I read at least the first few chapters. But to be honest I almost can't wait to read it, I really missed SV's Clois this past year.

I don't know what to think. Like you I could definitely do without the Sullivan-Queen business, that is such a bummer. And S10 wasn't my favorite so continuing on from that can be a good thing or bad thing at this point. I Guess we will see what happens.

I'm excited. BQM gets Clark and Lois. I adored season 10 and couldn't ask for a better writer to follow it up. Also, wellance Clois in comic book form is like a dream.

I'm late to the party. I only just heard this news! I'm cautiously excited... we'll see. Luckily Star Wars has prepared me for picking and choosing my own 'head-canon' so I can always fall back on that training. ;)

Unfortunately, canon is always canon to me. Now S11 in comic book form is going to be the canon that I have to live with. I just hope it's good canon. (Unlike S8... *shudder*.)

And this is exactly why I was ready to say goodbye to Smallville by the time S10 aired. The writing had become much too pathetic for the story to continue any longer and stay true to the Superman mythos. I don't know what BQM will do with the comics and I have no control over where he'll take this mythology but for me, the perfect end to the show was the Finale. In my mind the story and Tom/Erica's incarnations of Lois/Clark ended there. I don't want any DC-authorized continuation of that story, especially the one that involves Chloe and Oliver.

There is Chloe/Oliver, that's for sure.

Hey after a long time Sana!

I am unable to feel any enthusiasm for this comic and my only problem is Chloe. Even before the comics are out its clear by the DC marketing stuff and BQM's interviews that they're ready to lick her boots again. And I am sorry, but without Tom and Erica's pretty faces and perfect chemistry gracing my screen each week, there's not much incentive for me to wade through Chloe-worshipping to collect the gems of BQM's writing. And his comments like "Chloe has a lot in common with Lois" aren't making me much excited either.

By mid-Season 9 I was on the verge of fast forwarding through Chloe's scenes and tune out her dialogues during the screen time she shared with Lois or Clark, so you can imagine my apathy to a story where not only she'd be present a lot but the most torturous ship in the history of mankind aka Chlollie will also be thrown in our faces. That's a lot for me to take.

Wait, you were on the "verge" of ff'ing through Chloe's scenes. I was already pretty much ff'ing anything that didn't have Lois in it. (I began ff'ing Lana's scenes in S5.)
