“I still can’t get over the fact that you didn’t know it wasn’t me.” Clark’s smile widened as he looked over at her, his eyes twinkling with undisguised amusement.

A/N: So, a long time ago (in a galaxy not too far from here), someone mentioned in the “Upgrade” thread that they felt sorry for Clark because he wanted Zod to be his brother and best friend. Read more... )

A/N: Completely AU fic at this point. I didn't know that Lois was going to sneak into the Fortress all by herself. I figured Clark would take her. Little did I know.
 You're stuck on me
and my laughing eyes
I can't pretend though
I try to hide, I like you
I like you.

“So, what are we going to do tonight?” Clark asked, as he walked into my apartment. As usual, he had a gift in his hand. This time, it was chocolates.

My gaze narrowed on the writing on the box and I saw that it was from Belgium. And, by that, I didn’t mean that he’d just bought Belgian chocolates at a local store. Nope, that meant he’d made a pit stop in Belgium just before he came to my apartment.

 February 2008

Clark walked into the kitchen, while wiping his hands on the dirty towel he’d brought from the barn. He’d thought that working on the tractor would help clear his mind, but – instead – all it had done was leave him to dwell on his conflicted thoughts. The normally soothing activity had seemed pointless and he’d given up.

March 2005

“That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard!” Clark glared at Lois, his hands on his hips as he stared her down. At that moment, the half a foot he had on her looked like so much more, because it was clear that he had straightened up to his full height. Chloe wouldn’t bet on it, but it seemed as though he was doing it on purpose to be all that much more intimidating.

Lois ran into the bullpen, intent on grabbing her notes and her bag and then running back out. Glancing down at her watch, she saw that she was already ten minutes late to her meeting with her source. Pulling out her phone, Lois quickly typed a message to him to let him know that she’d be there within twenty minutes and that he shouldn’t go anywhere.

A/N: Written on the heels of "Hostage"....

------------------

We’ve been fighting a lot. So, really, it comes as no surprise that I’ve ended up here. Again. A failed relationship that leads to me sitting in my living room (torn up living room, since I don’t have the energy to clean it up), eating Chunky Monkey and debating whether to put on a bad Lifetime movie.

A/N: Another future fic....

Lois flipped through the pages of her notes, stopping every now and then to make notations on the margins where she thought there might be problem areas. Anything she thought that Perry would flag as being an issue when she met with him later that day. After awhile, she realized that the margins were starting to look pretty full. Rolling her eyes a bit, she let out a sigh. Just great. It was definitely going to be another one of those three hour meetings where she had to fight tooth and nail to get her editor to agree to let her continue with the article.

I’m seeing a whole other side of you, Clark. And for the first time, I’m not a fan of the view.

Lois’s words echoed through his head as Clark tossed the wrench onto the work bench with more force than necessary. He let out a frustrated sigh when he saw that his action had cracked the old wooden surface. Yet another thing to fix.

A/N: Last deleted scene from "Escape" (I kind of went crazy with this particular episode).

Letting out a laugh at something Clark said, Lois walked, hand in hand, back up the stairs with Clark and through the living room and lobby area. Right before they got to stairs that would lead back up to their room, Lois paused when she saw the inn had a gift shop.

A/N: And yet ANOTHER deleted scene from "Escape".

Lois squeezed Clark’s hand as they walked back into the common living room area to get to the stairs that would lead them up to their room. Just then, the electricity came back and light flooded through the room. Glancing up, Lois saw a couple just ahead of them and then did a classic double take, her eyes widening in shock.

A/N: Another deleted scene from "Escape"....

--------------------
Lois opened the door, wheeling her suitcases in as she backed into the room. “Clark, I don’t care how bad it is, I survived a tent in Guadalajara, I think I can I survive a….” When she turned to face him, she took in the spotless room, with the cheerful fire crackling in the fireplace and the massive bed taking up the majority of the room. “… A soggy room.” She shot a questioning look at Clark, who stood in front of the fireplace, wiping his hands with a small towel.

A/N: Deleted Scene from "Escape":
---------
Lois leaned over and grabbed the last piece of beef jerky from the bag of snacks she’d packed before they’d left for the trip. She held it out to Clark and offered, “You want it?”

Clark grimaced. “Uh… no thanks. I can’t believe you can eat all that stuff.” He cast a look her way, his eyes trailed over her body and he added, “And still look like that.”

Smallville to Lane @ 2:24pm: Nope. Bruce is having a MANDATORY League meeting.
