Yup. The finale was a mess. First, they make it seem like he's been working for a Mexican drug lord for 7 years and then they show that he really IS dead. And then they fast-forward 41 years and let us know that Allison and girls were OK after he died, but - 41 years later - Allison died and then she & Joe went to heaven together.
